We stayed in a timeshare resort one hour north of Montreal. One day we visted the the quaint city of Mont Tremblant, home of a famous ski area in an area called the Laurentians.
We also took a day walking the exciting city of Montreal. The old city area is filled with quaint shops and restaurants. The food is elegant in Montreal. Every place we stayed in Canada, and every restaurant, had free wi-fi. We noticed how well the goverment in Canada looks after pedestrians. Cars stop abruptly when people are in crosswalks and speed limits--for the most part--are observed.
We were amazed at the underground shopping areas in Montreal, designed that way so people can shop in the wintertime when temperatures can reach 20-30 below zero. Blocks and blocks of shops are connected by underground passageways.
Because Quebec City was a four-hour drive from our resort, we signed up for a tour and let the tour company do the driving. A visit to Quebec City is an absolute must while in Quebec Province. It's one of the most famous walled cities of the world and filled with history. It's also a very hip city, with modern shops and boutiques.

The USA dollar is virtually interchangeable with the Canadian dollar almost everywhere, except in airports, where the dollar is equal to only 93 cents Canadian. The people in Canada are friendly and helpful.
